Going through a hard time?
Sometimes writing isn't enough, and it's okay to ask for help.
Seabottles is a place to say what you feel and have someone, somewhere, read it. But writing to a stranger is no substitute for talking to someone who can really be there for you.
If you're going through a hard time, talking to someone you trust or to a mental health helpline can make a real difference. Helplines are free and confidential, and the person on the other end is trained to listen. You don't have to be in an emergency to call.
Find a helpline in your country
Find A Helpline lists free, confidential support lines in more than 100 countries, with their hours and whether they answer by phone, chat, or text.
In the United States and Canada, you can call or text 988 to reach a suicide and crisis line, any time of day or night.
In the UK and Ireland, Samaritans answer for free at 116 123, any time of day or night.
Find A Helpline is an outside service: Seabottles can't guarantee that its contact details are always complete or up to date.
Neither one is run by Seabottles.
If you think your life or someone else's is in immediate danger, call 911 in the United States and Canada, 999 in the UK, 112 in Ireland, or your local emergency number.
If you saw a bottle that worries you
Anyone can report a bottle or a message with the Report button, with or without an account. If something made you think someone is in danger, report it: we look at those first. You can also write to hola@seabottles.org.
You don't have to be sure. We'd rather check ten times too many than miss one.
